About Dr. Millner
Dr. Glenn Millner has more than 30 years of experience responding to hazardous material releases and more than 23 years as a primary responder for multiple industries and clients including municipalities, universities, post offices, hospitals, military bases, oil and gas companies, ships and barges, storage facilities, and more. He has worked with various federal, state, and local agencies including the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Homeland Security, and Unified Command. As a direct result of this work, Dr. Millner has experience with a wide variety of the environmental, human health, sampling, remediation, and analytical issues that may arise during emergency releases of hazardous materials. Dr. Millner specializes in identifying the human health risks of hazardous materials and combustion products; determining appropriate personal protective equipment; interpreting local, state, provincial, and federal regulations; deriving safe levels of chemicals in air, water, building services, soil, and sediment; and planning and managing air, water, soil, and groundwater sampling studies. Dr. Millner conducts toxicological evaluations, human health and ecological risk assessments, community and worker health evaluations, and regulatory compliance consultations.
Dr. Millner is a member, and currently serves as a chair, of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) Emergency Response Planning Guidelines (ERPG) Committee. This committee is responsible for establishing safe levels of chemicals for the protection of the public during emergencies. His consultation work includes cancer, birth defects, and target organ disease arising from occupational and environmental chemical releases. Dr. Millner provides on-site support in emergency settings such as train derailments and provides consultation and coordination services to clients regarding the specific standards described for OSHA, Worker Right-to-Know and SARA Title III compliance. Dr. Millner evaluates the results of employee health monitoring and training programs, and prepares, reviews, and summarizes corporate Safety Data Sheets.
